Description

This is a well-loved, handmade Huss & Dalton Concert-OM-Cutaway (Serial #2355). It's an exceptional guitar with a warm, open voice and exquisite overtones. It also happens to be a beauty, with Indian rosewood back and sides, abalone inlay, and well-cured Sitka spruce top that really rings. The fretboard is comfortable, and inlayed with abalone rosette in the "H&D Designed Ripple" pattern. Abalone also encircles the sound hole, protected by a tortoise pick guard. The tuners are Gold H&D/Ebony.

It's been set up and kept in DADGAD tuning for over 10 years and holds it's intonation and overtones beautifully up the neck even when using a capo. Versatile for performance or personal play. It's noteworthy to mention that this model is a nicely manageable size, not being too large for a smaller person, and is very comfortable to hold whether by strap or on lap. The cutaway gives easy access to the high-end, too. But the best part of this instrument is it's beautiful voice: it's balanced with a well-opened, full tone that's clear and warm, with overtones that really satisfy my "picky musician" ears – no thin treble or muddy base. It's a sweet sound with nice volume that naturally fills the room acoustically. I searched 2 years to find this guitar to upgrade from my Martin for Irish accompaniment. It's truly a gem.

Built in 2007 Huss & Dalton says this guitar still meets the exact OM-C specks on their website now, so I won't repeat them (just check their website). They quoted $6188 including their signature tweed case for building this model today (add tax & shipping ~ $6720). This guitar has been tenderly cared for. It's very stable and responsive with a sound that's opened up nicely. I'm only selling it because, frankly, it deserves to be played, and arthritis stops me. It's a beautiful guitar with a soul, and you'd probably fall in love with it like I did. Let me know if you have any questions.
